On August 02, 2022, the Committee on Women and Family Affairs under the Government of the Republic of Tajikistan, jointly with the United Nations Development Program in Tajikistan, held a two-day training aimed at increasing the capacity of members of the Interdepartmental Working Group on sectoral planning.

The training was attended by representatives of ministries, agencies and departments, committees, and public organizations.

The First Deputy Chairman of the Committee - Ms.Nigorakhon Gafforzoda welcomed the meeting participants and noted the socio-economic importance of the effective sectoral planning and the integration of gender factors in all areas of public policy.

In the course of the training, UNDP experts presented a presentation on the procedure for developing sectoral development programs in the Republic of Tajikistan, and also discussed such practical tools as: a methodology for identifying priority problems in sectors and determining mechanisms for their solution and a methodology for determining the cost of programs and strategies.

During the training, the theory was converted into practice, and a number of practical exercises were conducted for the participants of the training to form the structure of programs on conditional examples, as well as to form a logical chain in setting goals, objectives, and implementing measures of the country's strategic documents, taking into account the SDGs.

On 03 August, the training participants had the opportunity to form a matrix of actions of the conditional program, taking into account all elements of the monitoring and evaluation system, SDG indicators and NDS 2030 / MTDP 2025, in order to consolidate the information received and work it out on a practical example.

In order to improve the monitoring and reporting system for the implementation of national, sectoral and local development programs and SDGs, the Secretariat of the Council of the National Development Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan forms Interdepartmental Working Groups consisting of representatives of sectoral ministries and departments, public organizations, as well as development partners. In total, 14 Interdepartmental Working Groups of the National Development Council were formed in accordance with the selected sectoral development areas, covering the priorities of the National Development Strategy for the period up to 2030 and the SDGs.
