On January 17, 2023, in the conference hall of the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, as part of the activities of the interdepartmental working group on ensuring energy security and efficient use of electricity under the National Development Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, with the support of the UN Development Program in Tajikistan, a round table was held on the topics of " "Clean water and sanitation" and "Clean and affordable energy" were held in consideration of ensuring energy independence and effective use of electricity for reflection in the second review of national discretion.
Members of the Interdepartmental Working Group from the representatives of ministries and agencies, the private sector and the circle of scientists and industry experts who were involved in the process of developing the Second Review of the National Voluntary took part in the round table.
The round table was opened by the head of the intergovernmental working group, Mirjonov Qurbanali, the head of the electric power department of the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources, and noted that the purpose of the event within the framework of the working group of the National Development Council under the President of the Republic of Tajikistan on ensuring energy security and efficient use of energy Electricity is a round table discussion on the topics of "Clean water and sanitation" and "Clean and affordable energy" taking into account the provision of energy independence and efficient use of electricity.
Tajikistan is a leader in the implementation of the goal of access to clean water and sanitation, the Sustainable Development Goal (SDG 6) and clean and affordable energy (SDG 7), because 98 percent of electricity is produced from renewable energy sources, and in the future Tajikistan will renew existing capacities and the construction of new "green" energy capacities can become one of the main producers and exporters of environmentally friendly renewable energy sources in the region.

In particular, it was noted that the explanation of the national will is a process through which countries evaluate and present the state of national development and progress as part of the monitoring process and review mechanism in the direction of the implementation of the 2030 Agenda. In the process of developing the Review, the connection between the issues of clean water, energy and industrialization is studied within the broad theme of "green" development for a sustainable and bright future. In this regard, with the aim of developing the "green economy", adapting to climate change, reducing greenhouse gases, effective use of natural resources and attracting capital and energy-efficient technologies, the Strategy for the Development of the "Green" Economy in the Republic of Tajikistan for 2023-2037 from September 30, 2022 , No. 482 was accepted.
Also, during the event, Obidov Kamal and Muminova Farida, experts in the field, presented their views on the topics of "Clean water and sanitation" and "Clean and affordable energy" to the audience, taking into account the provision of energy independence and effective use of electricity for reflection in the second review of the national will. A comprehensive discussion took place between the members of the working group.

It should be noted that the second voluntary national review of the Republic of Tajikistan within the framework of the implementation of the National Development Strategy of the Republic of Tajikistan for the period up to 2030, taking into account the country's achievements in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals, was prepared at the High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development (HLPF). ), which is planned to be presented in July 2023 in the city of New York, United States of America.
In order to prepare the explanation, in accordance with the order of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Tajikistan dated August 13, 2022, No. 29526 (29-6.2), an interdepartmental working group was established at the expense of representatives of relevant ministries and agencies, and a group of industry experts was involved.
Also, the concept of the second voluntary national review and the action plan for its development were presented at the round table on December 12, 2022. According to the concept, the broad theme of the green development of the national economy for a stable and bright future is proposed for the second voluntary national explanation.
